The China International Patent Fair (CIPF) as a national Patent transaction summit and key fair supported by State Intellectual Property Bureau of China, is sponsored by State Intellectual Property Bureau of China, Government of Liao Ning Province and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and organized by Dalian municipal government. The projects exhibited at CIPF have been demonstrated as the highest patent technology achievements in China, a large number of the projects have been granted the highest awards by central government, including the national key plans with great break through, the projects from national engineering research center, the national high-tech industrial demonstration projects, the projects of national 863 plans as well as some high-tech multinationals' advanced patent technologies and products and so on.
CIPF has been successfully conducted for 4 sessions. With its thorough arrangements, the consummate service system, the remarkable transaction achievement and the good policy environment, CIPF has built an ideal demonstration and the transaction platform for the domestic and international businessmen, and obtained the recognition from governments at all level. Director-general of State Intellectual Property Bureau of China has participated the fair over the 4 sessions and lectured at the forum. Most of the provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and cities specifically designated in the state plan have organized groups to participate. Simultaneously, CIPF has attracted exhibition entities from U.S.A., Russia, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, North Korea and the Chinese Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and so on，roughly speaking, more than 20 countries and areas are enthusiastic to participate in the fair. Over the past 4 years, there are altogether 4,600 enterprises, more than 25,300 patent technologies and the products displayed and transacted at CIPF. The total volume of trade has reached RMB 19.1 billion and the participants to CIPF have been 400,000 people. In the past 4 sessions, the high level forums in relation to Intellectual Property Rights, the patent dispute cases, and the lawsuit hearing etc, all means mentioned above have supported the patent technology & product demonstration and the transaction at CIPF, have earned more and more attention from all walks of life in society.
The 2006 CIPF will be held from August 17th to 20th in the Dalian World Expo Center. During that period, there will be all kinds of participants, such as domestic and international governments, institutions of high education, outstanding patent technology & product from the science research academies and institutions, patent demonstration projects from various countries, patent garden areas, patent technology and product from development zones, investments, bids and cross cooperation projects, the outstanding creations of youth as well as inventors' mature patent projects. As a tradition of the CIPF, the Intellectual Property Right Protection and Independent Innovation Forum will simultaneously be held, the lawsuit hearing of Intellectual Property will be carried on publicly, and government reception activities will be held during the 2006 CIPF.
